About

During the academic year 2011-2012, I will be a Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow and a GRIPP postdoctoral fellow in the Political Science Department at McGill University in Montreal. I will be teaching a course on American Political Thought and an advanced seminar on political theory.

For the academic year 2010-2011, I have been a postdoctoral fellow at the Goethe Universitaet Frankfurt am Main, Germany, working on a project on "Rethinking Justice - Applied and Global."

I spent 2009-2010 as the Democracy and Diversity Postdoctoral Fellow in Political Philosophy at Queen's University in Canada, working under the direction of Will Kymlicka. I wrote about the relations between multiculturalism, global justice, and historical injustice. I have published in 'Public Reason: Journal of Moral and Political Philosophy', 'The Encyclopedia of Human Rights', and (forthcoming) 'The Encyclopedia of Political Thought'.

I received my Ph.D in Political Science in 2008 from Columbia University, where I majored in political theory and minored in international relations. My dissertation focused on Kant's cosmopolitanism and reparations for indigenous peoples. I graduated with a B.A. in Government from Dartmouth College in 2001. I have previously taught at Queen's University, Smith College, Columbia University, and the City University of New York.
