About

Meredith studies the Gospel of John and the ancient romance novels. She has a particular interest in the creation of identity and the relationship between narrative and ritual. Her Master's thesis on the pseudepigraphon, "Joseph and Aseneth", focused on transformational eating and identity formation.

Meredith has taught introductory Koine Greek and developed and taught an introductory course on Greek and Roman religions. She has been a teaching assistant for many courses including "Judaism, Christianity and Islam", "Women in the Christian Tradition", "Ancient Israelite Religion", and "Religions of the Ancient Near East", as well as for a special course designed to teach academic writing to freshman students.
