About

Damien Charrieras is a FQRSC funded postdoctoral fellow at McGill University. He holds a PhD in Communication Studies from Université de Montréal and a doctorate in Film Studies from Université Sorbonne Nouvelle. He has been a visiting scholar at Brown University, taught at Université de Montréal and worked as research assistant at the Institut National de l’Audiovisuel (Paris), at the Centre National de la Cinématographie (Paris) and at the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique (Montréal). His thesis examines the trajectories of new media artists in Montreal across different technocreative production sites. He is interested in digital art, new technologies related to technocreative practices, multimedia technocreative work, cultural production and industries, spaces and places of cultural work and critical new media studies.
